Fly a scientific experiment on board a high-altitude balloon provided by the Canadian Space Agency.

We’re working with the Canadian Space Agency to provide students with the opportunity to fly scientific payloads onboard high-altitude balloons.

Any student team at a Canadian university or college can submit a proposal for their experiments in areas such as astrophysics, atmospheric science, geomagnetism, biology, remote sensing, and technology demonstrations. Students from selected teams will attend the launch campaign, where they will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in launch operations.

Applications are now OPEN! Click the poster for more information.

Canada’s first microgravity research competition returns for it’s fifth year.

As always, we're working with the National Research Council of Canada and the Canadian Space Agency to host another CAN-RGX competition!

Any student team at a Canadian university or college can submit a proposal for their experiment, after which, up to four teams will be selected to fully design, build and fly their experiments. Two members of each team will fly with their experiments on board the Falcon-20 which simulates microgravity conditions by flying in consecutive parabolas.

Applications are now OPEN! Click the poster for more information.

We are excited to announce Canada’s only competition for post-secondary students to design an experiment for Canada’s Arctic.

We’re working with the Western Institute for Earth & Space Exploration to provide students with the opportunity to conduct a research expedition in the Canadian arctic.

We’ve selected two projects as part of the Primary Team, “Cardio and Electro Neurophysiology Sensing Expedition” from Simon Fraser University and “Novel Nucleic Acid-Based Soil Sample Analysis System for Planetary Exploration” from University of Toronto. These teams will work on designing their experiments over the next ~9 months and will have an opportunity to go on a research expedition in Canada’s arctic to carry out their experiments.

We are currently accepting applications for Delegate Team members who reside in the Territories! Click the poster for more information.

Get ready for Ascension 2022 - To Infinity and Beyond: Innovation in Space!

Ascension is Canada’s largest, annual, student space conference that brings together students, researchers, and industry professionals over a 3-day event. This conference bridges the gap between students, academia, and industry by bringing them together to share ideas and  find their own place in Canada’s space industry. Attendees have the opportunity to network, learn skills in workshops, and  listen to fascinating talks from researchers and professionals in space development.

The focus of this year’s theme is “To Infinity and Beyond: Innovation in Space” discussing exciting innovations, the plethora of opportunities in space, and looking to the future of Canadian Space. The conference this year is virtual with an exciting optional in-person networking component.

Ascension 2022 will take place this upcoming January 2022. Pre-registration is now open! Click the poster for more information.

Houston, we've solved the problem! NASA Space Apps Challenge 2021

Running annually since 2012, NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge brings coders, designers, entrepreneurs, and makers together from across the globe to take on a series of challenges developed by NASA as well as challenges developed by the CSA. This year, the hackathon will be held entirely virtually across the globe.

Space Apps draws people of all ages and skill levels to tackle challenges using data collected by NASA and the CSA related to living on Earth and in space. Over 48 hours, individuals will form teams from a common interest in a specific challenge, work towards a solution to that challenge, and present their idea to a panel, all while being mentored by experts. The events are an exciting opportunity to build skills, attend workshops, listen to inspiring speakers and meet mentors in the space industry.
